The program will be happening in Kahului during Spring Break 2025 (March 17-20).
PONO is a FREE Disaster Preparedness Training program for Teens that provides hands-on training following the Community Emergency Response Training (CERT) from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
The training has been adapted for teens but still includes all of the knowledge and skills provided in the adult training including Disaster Preparedness, Fire Safety, Search and Rescue, Triage, and First Aid. Teens will also participate in a final simulation that allows them to demonstrate their skills.
Training will take place on the UH Maui College campus from 8:00am – 5:00pm, March 27-20, 2025.
